About the Role :

We are looking for a motivated Cybersecurity Data Science Contractor with a strong foundation in Data Science, Machine Learning, and Cybersecurity. The role combines data-driven techniques with practical security operations to analyze security data, identify threats and anomalies, and develop solutions that improve cybersecurity detection and response.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop and support data-driven models for threat, anomaly, and insider-risk detection.

- Apply Machine Learning techniques including logistic regression, clustering, gradient descent, and neural networks.

- Perform Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) on endpoint, network, cloud, identity, and vulnerability datasets.

- Work with Security Operations and Threat Intelligence teams to develop features, metrics, and detection models.

- Contribute to automation workflows, anomaly scoring, and security dashboards.

- Research and experiment with AI/ML techniques, including NLP, embeddings, and anomaly detection.

- Analyze large volumes of security telemetry to identify actionable insights.

- Present technical findings and proof-of-concept results to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

- 2 - 3 years of relevant experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Applied Mathematics, or a related discipline.

- Strong understanding of Machine Learning fundamentals, including optimization, gradient descent, and supervised/unsupervised learning.

- Hands-on experience with Python and libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, PyTorch or TensorFlow.

- Basic understanding of Cybersecurity concepts, including threats, vulnerabilities, intrusion detection, and MITRE ATT&CK.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work with large datasets and communicate findings effectively.
