Job Description : Senior Databricks Solution Architect

Location : Hyderabad, India (Hybrid / Office-based)

Experience Level : 10+ years of IT experience (with 4+ years dedicated to Databricks architecture)

Employment Type : Full-time

Role Overview :

We are seeking a highly skilled, commercially savvy Senior Databricks Solution Architect to join our data practice in Hyderabad. In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex data strategy and business execution. You will be responsible for leading end-to-end solutioning for enterprise clients, drafting winning proposals, structuring commercial models, and rapidly demonstrating value by driving strategic POCs and pilots leveraging Covasant's proprietary platform, Auraa.

Key Responsibilities :

- Solutioning & Proposal Management (RFP/RFI) :

i. Lead the technical response for RFPs, RFIs, and proactive client proposals, translating complex business problems into scalable data architectures.

ii. Design high-level and low-level Lakehouse reference architectures integrated with public cloud providers (Azure, AWS, or GCP).

iii. Conduct discovery sessions with client stakeholders to define project scope, technical requirements, and strategic roadmaps.

- Commercial Strategy & Sizing :

i. Define estimation frameworks for end-to-end data workloads, including resource mapping, timelines, and milestones.

ii. Architect cost-effective solutions by accurately calculating Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and Return on Investment (ROI) for Databricks migrations.

iii. Optimize Databricks commercial structures (DBUs, cluster sizing, serverless compute configurations) to provide competitive and realistic pricing models for clients.

- POC, Pilot Execution & Platform Enablement :

i. Lead and support the rapid execution of Proof of Concepts (POCs) and pilot implementations to validate architectural approaches and win client confidence.

ii. Actively utilize and showcase Covasants proprietary platform, Auraa, to accelerate solution deployment, streamline prototyping, and deliver high-impact demonstrations.

iii. Collaborate closely with internal product teams to provide field feedback on Auraa, ensuring its continuous alignment with enterprise Databricks ecosystems and evolving market needs.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Technical & Platform Skills :

- Core Platform : Expert-level understanding of the Databricks ecosystem (Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, Databricks SQL, Workflows).

- Prototyping & Pilots : Strong capability to quickly stand up architectures, ingest sample datasets, and build out high-value use cases for client evaluations.

- Cloud Ecosystems : Proficient with at least one major cloud ecosystem, preferably Microsoft Azure or AWS.

- Proprietary Tools : Ability to quickly master and champion in-house platforms (specifically Auraa) to differentiate our technical offerings.

Commercial & Consulting Skills :

- Proven track record of supporting pre-sales cycles, presenting architecture designs to C-level executives (CIO, CDO, CTO).

- Excellent storytelling skills - ability to articulate the business value of Databricks and Auraa to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Strong negotiation, written communication, and presentation-building skills.

Certifications (Highly Preferred) :

- Databricks Certified Solutions Architect or Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional.

- Cloud Architecture Certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional).
