Continental Automotive - Lead Software Engineer - C++/Python

The AMR team at Continental is developing an autonomy stack for mobile robots operating in different environmental conditions.

Were looking for an experienced lead software engineer (robot applications) to join our team to develop state-of-the-art robotic software solutions.

What you will be doing :

Experience Level: 7 to 13 Years.

- Lead a team of robotics software application engineers in delivering customer value by developing application solutions, customer-specific adaptations, and addressing field issues.

- Develop well-documented, industry-ready robot application software solutions in ROS2.

- Benchmark the performance of the existing and developed software solutions.

- Optimize the execution performance of the developed software modules.

- Contribute to the design and development of new utility software and tooling required for improving the overall robustness of the autonomy functionalities.

- Improve the code quality to meet the cybersecurity requirements.

- Conduct code reviews.

- Participate in design reviews.

What were looking for is someone with :

- Proven experience in software development for autonomous systems with a good understanding of the software development lifecycle and design patterns.

- Proven experience working with customers and handling field issues.

- Strong programming skills in either C++ or Python.

- An eye for detail, and commitment and enthusiasm for delivering customer value through robust software solutions.

- Robotics and/or IoT security experience is a plus.

- Self-driven, possesses a strong desire to learn new technologies and a willingness to share knowledge with the team.

- Good communication and presentation skills and the ability to work well within a team.

- Flexibility to travel.

Expected qualifications :

- A bachelors degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical & electronic engineering, or a related discipline with at least 5 years experience.

- Technical proficiency in mobile robot autonomy-related topics.

- Good software development skills in C++/Python/Rust.

- Experience in ROS/ROS2 or other middleware technologies.

- Experience with cloud technologies is a plus.
