Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Cognos Analytics Developer with 4 to 6 years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and implementing BI solutions.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in IBM Cognos Analytics, data modeling, reporting, and dashboard development, along with solid SQL skills and understanding of data warehousing concepts.

Key Responsibilities :

Cognos Development & Reporting :

- Design, develop, and maintain Cognos reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Cognos Analytics.

- Build and optimize Framework Manager models, data modules, and data sets.

- Create reusable report templates, prompts, filters, and advanced calculations.

- Implement security, permissions, and user access within Cognos.

Data Modeling & ETL Collaboration :

- Work with data engineering teams to ensure data availability, performance, and quality.

- Perform data modeling, source-to-target mapping, and validation.

- Collaborate on ETL/ELT integration and troubleshoot data inconsistencies.

Performance Optimization :

- Monitor and optimize report performance and query execution.

- Tune data models and database queries for efficiency.

- Business Interaction & Requirement Gathering

- Work closely with business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements.

- Translate business needs into technical specifications and BI solutions.

- Provide user support, documentation, and training on Cognos reports and dashboards.

Project & Delivery Management :

- Manage multiple BI projects and deliverables in parallel.

- Ensure solutions adhere to reporting best practices and data governance standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

- 4 to 6 years of hands-on experience in IBM Cognos Analytics (11.x preferred).

Strong expertise in :

- Framework Manager

- Report Studio / Report Authoring

- Dashboard & Story creation

- Data modules, data sets

- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, etc.).

- Understanding of data warehousing and BI concepts.

- Experience in report automation, scheduling, and security configurations.

- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Good to Have :

- Experience with Cognos Administration (deployment, configuration).

- Scripting knowledge (Python, Shell, or similar).

- Experience with cloud BI environments (AWS, Azure).

- Familiarity with Power BI / Tableau / Qlik.
