We are hiring lead engineers to join our Cloud Platform Engineering team to contribute to some of Chargebees most critical architectural transformations. You will be working on features such as global distribution, data rebalancing, and tackling challenging problems in storage, reliability, and scalability.

What Youll Do :

- Design and implement improvements across one or more layers of the platform.

- Collaborate with a team of expert engineers to solve complex scaling challenges.

- Understand customer workload requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.

- Optimize performance through CPU and heap profiling, SQL query rewriting, and data structure optimization.

- Work independently to solve complex engineering problems with a high degree of autonomy.

Attributes That Best Describe You :

- You are passionate about building high-performance and scalable systems.

- You have a good understanding of distributed systems concepts (e.g., leasing, replication, leader election), database internals (e.g., WALs, MVCC, compaction), and performance optimization (e.g., multithreading, garbage collection, memory layouts).

- You're at home in terminals and have extensive experience with systems languages such as C++, Go, Rust, or Java.

- You are confident working with large codebases and take pride in writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code.

- You have operated and maintained critical production systems at scale and can debug complex issues across multiple systems.

- You have hands-on experience building and deploying applications in the cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.).

What You Must Have :

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

- 8+ years of software engineering experience focused on backend systems or databases.

- Previous experience at a high-growth technology company.

- Proven experience in building multi-tenant SaaS systems, with an understanding of the associated challenges such as noisy neighbors, backup strategies, and resource isolation.

- Strong communication skills and experience mentoring junior engineers.
