Job Description

Role : Lead / Principal Microsoft Fabric Data Architect.

Location : Jaipur/Gurugram/Noida/Pune/Ahmedabad/Hyderabad/Bengaluru/Remote.

Employment Type : Full-Time.

Department : Enterprise Data & Analytics.

Experience Level : Senior / Lead (8+ years in Data Architecture & Engineering).

We are seeking a visionary Microsoft Fabric Data Architect to lead the modernization of our enterprise analytics ecosystem.

In this role, you will take end-to-end technical ownership of our data platform, spearheading large-scale data ingestion from core systems - with a strong focus on SAP - into Microsoft Fabric.

You will bridge the gap between architectural strategy, high-performance data engineering, and modern DevOps practices.

Beyond classical warehousing and dimensional modeling, you will champion an AI-first mindset, architecting data estates that not only feed executive business intelligence but serve as the backbone for generative AI, predictive models, and intelligent agentic workflows.

Key Responsibilities :

- Architect & Scale Microsoft Fabric Estates : Design and govern unified Lakehouse and Data Warehouse architectures within Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Direct Lake, Fabric Warehouses, Lakehouses, and Pipelines).

- Lead SAP Ingestion Pipelines : Architect robust, low-latency, scalable extraction patterns from SAP source systems (e.g., SAP ECC, S/4HANA, BW) into Microsoft Fabric via Fabric Pipelines, Azure Data Factory, CDC connectors, or SAP Change Data Capture frameworks.

- Master Enterprise Data Modeling : Design scalable conceptual, logical, and physical data models (Kimball dimensional modeling, Data Vault, or semantic layer modeling) optimized for sub-second Direct Lake analytical queries.

- Drive Software Engineering & DevOps Rigor : Implement enterprise-grade CI/CD and version control standards using VS Code, Azure DevOps / GitHub, automated testing, branch protection rules, code reviews, and structured PR workflows for Fabric artifacts.

- Engine with PySpark & SQL : Write, review, and optimize complex SQL queries and distributed PySpark transformations for high-throughput batch and streaming workloads.

- Enable High-Performance BI & AI : Collaborate with BI engineers to build semantic models in Power BI and guide data readiness for enterprise AI/ML solutions (semantic search, Copilot integrations, predictive analytics).

- Technical Leadership & Mentorship : Act as the technical authority for data engineering teams, providing code reviews, design critiques, architectural blueprints, and cross-functional leadership across business and engineering stakeholders.

Must-Have Technical Skills :

- Microsoft Fabric : Proven expertise architecting end-to-end solutions in Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Lakehouse/Warehouse patterns, Direct Lake mode, and Fabric compute optimization).

- SAP Data Ingestion : Demonstrable hands-on experience extracting and integrating enterprise SAP data (ECC/S4HANA, OData, RFC/BAPI, or Change Data Capture) into cloud lakehouses.

- Advanced Data Modeling : Deep expertise in dimensional modeling (star/snowflake schemas), slowly changing dimensions (SCD), enterprise semantic layers, and warehouse design principles.

- Developer Workflows & GitOps : Strong fluency with local developer workflows (VS Code), CI/CD pipelines, Git operations (branching strategies, structured commits, pull requests, and peer reviews).

- Core Languages : Advanced, production-grade proficiency in SQL and PySpark / Python.

Professional Profile & Soft Skills :

- Leadership & Ownership : Proven track record leading technical teams, influencing platform roadmaps, and owning architectural decisions with accountability.

- Communication & Stakeholder Management : Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to articulate complex architectural trade-offs to both executive leadership and engineering teams.

- Modern AI Mindset : Familiarity with integrating LLMs, vector search, Azure OpenAI, or Fabric Copilot into enterprise data workflows.

- Problem Solving : Rigorous logical and analytical reasoning with an instinct for query optimization, bottleneck identification, and cost-efficient capacity management.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience migrating legacy Azure Synapse, Databricks, or on-premise warehouses into Microsoft Fabric.

- Microsoft Certified : Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600) or Azure Solutions Architect.

- Experience deploying automated testing frameworks (e.g., Great Expectations, dbt, or PyTest) within data pipelines.

What We Offer :

- Competitive compensation and incentive package.

- High-impact leadership role directly shaping enterprise analytics and AI strategy.

- Comprehensive health, wellness, and retirement benefits.

- Flexible working model (Remote / Hybrid).

- Continuous learning budget for certifications, conferences, and technical workshops.
