Position : Senior Data Analyst
About the Role :
We are looking for a Sr Data Analyst (For our Yatri App ) who can go beyond traditional reporting to own and streamline datasets, generate actionable insights, and drive product & business decisions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of data, product, and strategy with the ability to work on operational issues (like multimodal performance, mapping leakages in train/station data) while also ensuring that data pipelines and processes are scalable for external partners like Google and Amnex.
Key Responsibilities :
Data Management & Scalability :
- Own, clean, and streamline internal datasets to ensure accuracy, consistency, and scalability.
- Build processes and frameworks to ensure smooth integration and sharing of data with external partners.
- Maintain high-quality standards in mapping, GTFS data, and geospatial datasets.
Product & Business Analysis
- Identify and analyze key business issues such as multimodal inefficiencies, mapping leakage, and station/train-level data gaps.
- Translate insights into product recommendations, working closely with Product and Operations teams.
- Define and track success metrics for core product features (train tracking, multimodal journey planning, ticketing, etc.).
Insights, Segmentation & Reporting :
- Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations that provide clarity to leadership, product, and operations teams.
- Build rational, actionable user segments and cohorts to understand commuter behavior, product adoption, and retention.
- Partner with Marketing to identify which cohorts drive or leak growth, enabling targeted campaigns and retention strategies.
- Conduct deep dives into commuter behavior and operational performance to uncover growth opportunities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration :
- Work closely with Marketing, Product, and Operations to ensure insights translate into action.
- Ensure data integrity across systems while enabling better decision-making.
- Act as a data advisor for leadership, influencing product and strategy roadmaps.
Requirements :
- 3 - 7 years of experience in Data Analytics / Business Intelligence / Product Analytics.
- Strong command of SQL, Python/R, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or equivalent).
- Experience working with large, complex, and geospatial datasets (GTFS, transport/mapping data a plus).
- Strong understanding of product metrics, funnels, retention analysis, segmentation, and cohort analysis.
- Previous experience supporting Marketing/Growth teams with data-driven segmentation and
campaign insights.
- Ability to structure ambiguous problems, uncover insights, and translate them into actionable recommendations.
- Strong communication skills able to present insights clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice-to-Have :
- Strong product knowledge and prior experience working on a consumer app or D2C product, with understanding of user funnels, engagement, and retention.
- Experience in mobility, transportation, or mapping platforms.
- Exposure to data exchange with external partners (Google, Map providers, Government APIs, ONDC, etc.).
- Understanding of predictive modeling, anomaly detection, or ML-driven insights.
