Business Intelligence Analyst - Tableau/Power BI

About the Role :

We are seeking a results-driven Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst to design, develop, and optimize BI solutions that transform complex data into actionable insights. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, deep technical expertise in BI tools, data modeling, and visualization, along with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders to drive data-informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities :

Data Analysis & Reporting :

- Conduct data exploration, profiling, and validation to ensure accuracy and reliability.

- Build KPI frameworks and deliver insights to business leaders for strategy and execution.

BI Development & Visualization :

- Create drill-down reports, ad-hoc queries, and predictive dashboards aligned with business goals.

Data Modeling & ETL :

- Design data models (star/snowflake schemas) to support reporting and analytics.

- Work with ETL tools (SSIS, Informatica, Talend, or Alteryx) to transform raw data into

structured datasets.

- Collaborate with Data Engineering teams for building data pipelines from multiple sources (ERP, CRM, APIs, flat files, cloud databases).

Database & Query Optimization :

- Write and optimize SQL queries for large-scale datasets.

- Perform performance tuning for BI queries, dashboards, and reports.

- Ensure data governance, quality checks, and compliance with security policies.

Advanced Analytics (Preferred) :

- Exposure to Python/R for statistical analysis, predictive modeling, or automation.

- Knowledge of AI/ML integration with BI for advanced use cases.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management :

- Provide training and guidance on BI tools and dashboards to end-users.

- Act as a data evangelist, promoting data-driven culture across the organization.

Technical Skills Required :

- Hands-on experience with BI tools: Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or Looker.

- Proficiency in data modeling (dimensional, relational, OLAP/OLTP concepts).

- ETL/Data Integration skills with tools such as SSIS, Informatica, Talend, Alteryx.

- Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS Redshift, GCP BigQuery, Azure Synapse).

- Strong knowledge of Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, Power Query).

- Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD for BI deployments.

- (Optional) Python/R for data analysis and automation.

Qualifications :

- Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems,

Engineering, or related field.

- Proven track record of delivering data-driven insights to improve business performance.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Good to Have (Bonus Skills) :

- Experience with API integrations for data ingestion.

- Familiarity with Agile methodologies for BI project delivery.

- Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, SOC2).

- Exposure to machine learning/AI-driven BI use cases.
