Job Summary :

Barco is looking for a technically proficient Product Owner to collaborate with software engineering teams, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to drive effective product delivery.

The candidate will translate business needs into well-defined functional requirements, manage backlog readiness, clarify technical requirements, and ensure that product increments meet acceptance criteria.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of software systems, APIs, data flows, and architecture, along with experience working in Agile product development environments.

Key Responsibilities :

- Translate business requirements into detailed user stories, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria.

- Refine and prioritize product backlog items to ensure they are clear and ready for development.

- Work closely with software developers, designers, architects, and other stakeholders to support product delivery.

- Act as the primary point of contact for requirement-related queries during implementation.

- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

- Clarify functional requirements and help resolve implementation blockers.

- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure delivered features meet business expectations.

- Validate product functionality against defined acceptance criteria and support functional testing.

- Identify requirement gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for process improvement.

- Promote effective collaboration between business and technical teams.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

- 12 - 18 years of total professional experience, with at least 5 years in Product Ownership, Business Analysis, or a similar Agile role.

- Experience working with software development teams in a technical or product-based environment.

- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.

- Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar Atlassian tools.

- Ability to convert business needs into clear functional and technical requirements.

- Understanding of APIs, data flows, system integrations, and software architecture concepts.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience with highly technical or platform-based products.

- Understanding of software integration patterns and complex system behaviour.

- Previous experience in business analysis or functional analysis.

- Prior hands-on technical experience in software development or engineering is an advantage.
