We are looking for engineers who enjoy working close to the systems layer, extracting every last bit of performance from hardware and software. You will work on the core engine, building new capabilities and optimizing query execution to efficiently process petabyte-scale workloads.

As part of the core engineering team, you will own end-to-end development of critical engine capabilities, from design and architecture to implementation and optimization.

Core Responsibilities :

- Build and enhance the core functionality of the e6data compute engine in Rust, with a strong focus on performance and scalability.

- Design and implement high-performance distributed systems components for query processing.

- Continuously improve query execution performance through better algorithms, data structures, and system design.

- Participate in the scoping, design, and architecture of new engine capabilities.

- Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code following best engineering practices.

- Collaborate closely with the core team to design, build, and optimize complex systems.

Must Have (Non-Negotiables) :

- Strong programming fundamentals with excellent coding ability.

- Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms.

- Demonstrated ability to write high-performance code.

- Experience building complex software systems or distributed systems.

- Proficiency in Rust, C++, or a similar systems programming language.

- Self-driven, highly motivated engineer who can quickly ramp up and deliver high-impact outcomes.

Preferred Experience :

Experience working on systems or performance-critical software, such as :

- Databases

- Networking systems

- Compilers

- Operating systems/kernels

- Embedded systems

- Distributed systems infrastructure

Hands-on experience with :

- Performance optimization and profiling

- Efficient data structures

- Low-level system behavior
