The role demands ownership of end-to-end delivery, from understanding business use cases to deploying and maintaining stable backend services.

Responsibilities :

- Work on complex functionalities, not just minor bug fixes or cosmetic changes.

- Design efficient SQL schemas, write optimized queries, and ensure data integrity.

- Collaborate closely with frontend and product teams to ship complete, user-facing features.

- Participate in code reviews, improve code quality, and maintain high engineering standards.

- Troubleshoot production issues and drive root-cause fixes with a big-picture view of the system.

Must-Have Skills & Profile :

- 12 years of experience as a backend developer.

- Strong in Node.js, TypeScript/JavaScript, and SQL (MySQL or similar RDBMS) SQL is mandatory.

- Proven track record of independently building and owning features or modules in production systems.

- Strong grasp of web fundamentals : HTTP, REST APIs, authentication, request-response lifecycle.

- Experience working on Linux-based environments and Git/GitHub workflows.

- Awareness of how their module fits into the larger product architecture and business goals.

Bonus / Brownie Points :

- Strong open-source contributions (GitHub links), especially to web/backend projects.

- Participation in GSoC, hackathons, Codeforces/competitive programming, or similar platforms.

- Internships at strong or reputed product/tech companies with real feature ownership.

- Experience integrating with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) and basic DevOps exposure.

What We Do Not Want :

- Primarily ML/AI profiles or candidates whose main work is in data science/ML pipelines.

- Candidates whose experience is limited to minor bug fixes, CSS tweaks, or small refactors with no major feature ownership.
