Backend Developer - Node.js/TypeScript

Description :

As a Backend Developer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and scaling backend services that power our interoperable healthcare platform. You will contribute to architectural decisions, improve system performance, and play a key role in mentoring engineers while working closely with the founder and product stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities :

- Architect, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and TypeScript

- Build and optimize RESTful and GraphQL APIs

- Design and manage relational data models using PostgreSQL and MySQL

- Implement database access layers using Prisma or TypeORM

- Ensure high standards of security, scalability, and performance

- Participate in sprint planning, development, and delivery using Agile methodologies

- Review code and enforce engineering best practices

- Monitor and optimize API performance and backend workflows

- Debug production issues and improve system reliability

- Work closely with QA to deliver stable, high-quality releases

- Guide and mentor junior engineers through technical leadership

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline

- 4+ years of backend development experience using Node.js and TypeScript

- Strong expertise in TypeScript for large-scale backend applications

- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL

- Experience working with ORMs such as Prisma or TypeORM

- Solid understanding of backend architecture and API design

- Familiarity with Agile / Scrum development practices

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced startup environment

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Proactive and self-driven mindset

Nice to Have :

- Exposure to additional backend languages or frameworks

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
