Azure Fabric Architect - DAX Power BI

Key Responsibilities

Design and lead enterprise-scale Azure and Microsoft Fabric data architectures aligned with business, analytics, scalability, security, and performance requirements.

Design, develop, and optimize Power BI semantic models, including Tabular models, DAX measures, relationships, data structures, and dataset performance.

Architect and implement Microsoft Fabric solutions using OneLake, Fabric workloads, and Fabric capacity, including migration from Power BI Premium capacity where required.

Analyze and resolve performance and scalability issues in large enterprise semantic models through capacity analysis, query-load analysis, model optimization, and performance tuning.

Design and integrate solutions across the broader Azure data ecosystem, including Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure SQL.

Define data architecture standards, modeling approaches, integration patterns, governance practices, and best practices for enterprise data platforms.

Act as a solution architect on client-facing engagements, understanding business requirements and translating them into scalable technical solutions.

Review data architectures and models developed by internal or third-party vendors, identify gaps and risks, and provide actionable architecture recommendations.

Work closely with data engineers, BI developers, architects, business teams, and senior stakeholders to drive successful implementation and adoption of Azure and Fabric solutions.

Present architecture decisions, recommendations, performance findings, and solution roadmaps to technical and executive stakeholders while ensuring delivery aligns with defined architecture standards.

Required Skills & Experience

8+ years of hands-on experience in Data Architecture, Data Engineering, or related fields.

Minimum 4 years of experience working with the Microsoft/Azure data ecosystem.

3+ years of hands-on experience with Power BI semantic model design, including Tabular models, DAX, and dataset performance tuning.

1+ year of hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Fabric capacity management, and migration from Power BI Premium capacity.

Strong experience diagnosing and resolving performance and scalability issues in large, enterprise-scale semantic models.

3+ years of experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure SQL.

2+ years of experience working as a Solution Architect in client-facing engagements.

Experience reviewing third-party/vendor-built data models and providing architecture recommendations.

Strong understanding of data modeling, data integration, data warehousing, analytics, and enterprise data architecture.

Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder-management, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to explain complex technical concepts and architecture trade-offs to both technical and executive audiences.
