Aziro - System Engineer - C/Kernel Development

We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer with a strong background in building large-scale distributed systems and solving complex low-level problems.

This role requires deep expertise in Linux kernel internals, storage systems, and enterprise clustering technologies such as Veritas InfoScale.

The candidate will work on critical components including file systems, volume management, clustering, and highly scalable infrastructure platforms.

Roles & Responsibilities :

- Design and develop systems in areas such as file systems, volume managers, clustering, and storage infrastructure

- Work deeply within Linux kernel, I/O stack, and storage subsystems

- Build and operate large-scale distributed systems with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability

- Work on enterprise storage and clustering solutions including Veritas InfoScale, Volume Manager (VxVM), and Cluster Server (VCS)

- Architect and deliver high-performance, resilient services for enterprise environments

- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for complex production issues and implement long-term fixes

- Collaborate cross-functionally with SRE, Support, QA, and Product teams

- Drive improvements in system reliability and operational excellence

- Mentor engineers and help elevate overall engineering quality

Required Skills :

- Strong C kernel systems programming expertise

- Solid understanding of Linux internals (kernel, I/O, file systems)

- Hands-on experience in storage systems / I/O path

- Experience with Veritas InfoScale / VCS / VxVM clustering technologies

- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills for both user-level and kernel components

- Minimum 8 years of related experience with a Bachelors degree, or 6 years with a Masters degree

- Strong coding, analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting skills

- Ability to deep dive into complex technical issues and resolve them effectively

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence teams toward inclusive, innovative, and customer-centric behaviors

- Ability to articulate design and implementation choices clearly to diverse audiences

- Independent, self-motivated, creative, and adaptable to dynamic environments

- Ability to mentor junior engineers and elevate team-wide quality practices

Nice to Have :

- Experience with microservices and Kubernetes

- Exposure to AI/ML systems, especially infrastructure-level integration

- Familiarity with distributed storage architectures and high-availability systems
