AVP AI Engineering (Financial Services)

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly accomplished and hands-on AVP AI Engineering to lead the design, development, and deployment of AI-powered solutions across our financial services business. This role is ideal for a builder who thrives in solving complex, ambiguous problems and can independently architect and deliver end-to-end AI systems that create measurable business impact.

Unlike traditional leadership, consulting, strategy, or data management roles, this position requires deep technical expertise and active involvement in coding, model development, deployment, and AI product engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

AI Solution Architecture & Development:

- Own the end-to-end AI engineering function for the organization.

- Translate ambiguous business challenges into scalable AI-driven solutions.

- Design, develop, test, and deploy production-grade AI/ML applications.

- Architect AI systems leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, NLP, machine learning, and predictive analytics.

- Build robust data pipelines, model-serving infrastructure, and AI platforms.

Technical Leadership:

- Serve as the technical authority for AI engineering initiatives.

- Establish best practices for AI development, deployment, monitoring, and governance.

- Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, architecture reviews, and technical mentorship.

- Evaluate emerging AI technologies and identify opportunities for innovation.

Product & Business Collaboration:

- Partner with business leaders, product teams, and stakeholders to identify high-impact AI use cases.

- Convert business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

- Ensure AI solutions align with regulatory, security, and compliance standards applicable to financial services.

Deployment & Optimization:

- Lead model deployment, performance optimization, and production monitoring.

- Implement MLOps practices to ensure reliability, scalability, and maintainability.

- Continuously improve model performance through experimentation and feedback loops.

Required Skills & Experience:

Experience:

- 15+ years of overall experience in software engineering and technology.

- Minimum 7+ years of hands-on experience in Applied Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Science.

- Proven experience building and deploying AI solutions in production environments.

- Prior experience in Banking, Financial Services, FinTech, Insurance, or related domains is highly preferred.

Technical Skills:

- Strong programming expertise in Python and modern AI/ML frameworks.

- Hands-on experience with LLMs, Generative AI, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), NLP, and Agentic AI systems.

- Expertise in machine learning model development, deployment, and optimization.

- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

- Strong understanding of MLOps, CI/CD pipelines, model monitoring, and AI infrastructure.

- Experience with vector databases, AI orchestration frameworks, and scalable distributed systems.

Educational Qualifications:

- M.Tech / Master's Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering, or related field.

- MBA/PGDM or PG Diploma from reputed institutions will be an added advantage.
