Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced - WordPress Architect- with 10+ years of expertise in designing, developing, and architecting enterprise-scale WordPress solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining technical architecture, ensuring scalability, security, performance optimization, and leading development teams in delivering high-quality WordPress applications and digital experiences.

The candidate should possess deep knowledge of WordPress core, custom plugin/theme development, headless architecture, cloud deployment, API integrations, and modern web technologies.

Key Responsibilities :

Architecture & Solution Design :

- Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performing WordPress architectures.

- Define technical standards, coding guidelines, and development best practices.

- Lead architecture discussions and provide technical recommendations to stakeholders.

- Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, frameworks, and integrations.

- Design multi-site, multi-language, and enterprise-level WordPress solutions.

Development & Technical Leadership :

- Lead development teams and mentor junior and senior developers.

- Review code to ensure quality, maintainability, and compliance with standards.

- Develop custom themes, plugins, and reusable components.

- Ensure adherence to WordPress coding standards and security best practices.

- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide architectural solutions.

Performance & Security :

- Optimize website performance, scalability, and reliability.

- Implement caching strategies using Redis, Memcached, Varnish, etc.

- Conduct security audits and implement security controls.

- Ensure compliance with GDPR, accessibility (WCAG), and SEO standards.

- Monitor application health and performance metrics.

Integration & Modern Architecture :

- Architect and implement Headless WordPress solutions using REST API and GraphQL.

- Integrate WordPress with third-party systems including CRM, ERP, Marketing Automation, Payment Gateways, and Analytics platforms.

- Design API-first architectures and microservices-based integrations.

- Work with frontend frameworks such as React, Next.js, Vue.js, or Angular.

DevOps & Cloud :

- Design CI/CD pipelines for WordPress deployments.

- Manage deployments on AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.

- Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation preferred).

- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery planning.

Stakeholder Management :

- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, designers, and development teams.

- Participate in client meetings and provide technical consultation.

- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Core WordPress Expertise

- 10+ years of experience in WordPress development and architecture.

- Extensive knowledge of WordPress Core, Hooks, Filters, REST APIs, and Gutenberg.

- Strong experience in custom theme and plugin development.

- Expertise in WordPress Multisite architecture.

- Experience with WooCommerce customization and integrations.

Backend Technologies :

- Strong proficiency in PHP 8+, OOP, and MVC concepts.

- Experience with MySQL/MariaDB optimization and database design.

- Knowledge of Composer, Dependency Management, and Package Management.

Frontend Technologies :

- Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript.

- Experience with React.js, Next.js, Vue.js, or Angular.

- Knowledge of Gutenberg Block Development.

API & Integrations :

- RESTful APIs and GraphQL.

- Third-party integrations including Salesforce, HubSpot, SAP, Stripe, PayPal, etc.

- OAuth, JWT, and SSO implementations.

Cloud & DevOps :

- AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

- Docker and Kubernetes.

- CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Bitbucket Pipelines.

- Version control using Git.

Security & Performance :

- WordPress Security Hardening.

- OWASP security principles.

- Performance optimization and caching techniques.

- CDN implementation (Cloudflare, Akamai, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience with Enterprise CMS implementations.

- Experience in Headless CMS architecture.

- Knowledge of Microservices architecture.

- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

- Exposure to AI-powered website solutions and integrations.

- WordPress VIP experience is highly preferred.

Education :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
