Key Responsibilities :

- Drive API governance including versioning, lifecycle management, and security standards.

- Lead design of reusable API patterns and components for integration and platform teams.

- Collaborate with DevOps teams to embed API design and security into CI/CD pipelines.

- Evaluate and implement API management tools (Kong, AWS API Gateway, Azure API

Management).

- Define authentication, authorization, caching, and observability models for APIs.

- Review existing APIs to ensure enterprise-wide consistency and best practices.

- Contribute to event-driven architecture strategy (Kafka, EventBridge, SNS/SQS).

- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and conduct API design training sessions.

Required Skills & Experience :

- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.

- 7+ years in software engineering; 4+ years in API architecture and integration.

- Expertise in RESTful API design, OpenAPI/Swagger, JSON Schema, and GraphQL.

- Strong programming background (Node.js, Python, or Java).

- Experience with frameworks like Express, FastAPI, Spring Boot, or NestJS.

- Knowledge of OAuth2.0, OpenID Connect, API Keys, and mTLS.

- Hands-on with API management platforms (Kong, AWS, or Azure API Gateway).

- Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices architecture.

- Familiarity with asynchronous/event-driven APIs (Kafka, SQS, EventBridge).

- Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and CI/CD pipelines.

- API observability tools (Prometheus, OpenTelemetry) and API-related certifications preferred.
