Role Overview :
As an Android Audio Engineer specializing in AAOS (Android Automotive OS), you will be at the forefront of developing high-fidelity audio experiences for modern vehicles. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers and system architects, to design, implement, and optimize audio frameworks within the automotive cockpit. Your contributions will directly impact the end-user experience, ensuring seamless audio performance, low-latency streaming, and robust integration across complex vehicle infotainment systems.
Key Responsibilities :
- Optimize AudioFlinger and AudioPolicyService components to meet the stringent performance and latency requirements of automotive-grade infotainment systems.
- Develop and debug complex audio routing logic to support multi-zone audio, navigation prompts, and emergency alerts within the vehicle environment.
- Collaborate with hardware teams to integrate Bluetooth stacks and external audio peripherals, ensuring high-quality connectivity and stability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system-level audio issues, including synchronization, noise cancellation, and codec integration, to enhance overall system reliability.
- Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions to uphold high standards of software quality and maintainability across the Android stack.
Required Skillset :
- Strong proficiency in developing and debugging Hardware Interface Definition Language (HIDL) and AIDL for seamless hardware-software interaction.
- Proven ability to work within the AAOS ecosystem, with a deep understanding of automotive-specific audio requirements and standards.
- Hands-on experience with Bluetooth stack integration and audio streaming protocols within the Android framework.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex system-level performance bottlenecks in resource-constrained environments.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with global stakeholders and cross-functional engineering teams in a hybrid work environment.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field, with 4 to 8 years of relevant professional experience.
- Ability to join immediately and hit the ground running in our Bangalore, Pune, or Thiruvananthapuram offices.
