Role : Senior AI/ML Engineer - Recommendation & Intelligence

Role Overview :

We are looking for a Senior AI/ML Engineer - Recommendation & Intelligence to build the intelligence layer of an AI-powered platform connecting members with people, services, and experiences. The role will focus on people intelligence, relationship modelling, recommendation, ranking, matching, and learning systems that generate explainable and useful recommendations.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design the data architecture for people, profiles, relationships, interests, interactions, and behavioural signals.

- Build production-grade recommendation, ranking, and matching systems for member-to-member and member-to-service recommendations.

- Develop explainable matching logic that clearly identifies why two people or entities are being recommended to each other.

- Build matching systems across use cases such as business, investment, advice, shared interests, and social connections.

- Develop systems that learn and improve from user feedback, engagement, acceptance, and rejection signals.

- Design data models and relationship structures capable of representing complex networks and connections.

- Develop ML/AI pipelines for ranking, personalization, recommendation, classification, and relevance scoring.

- Establish evaluation frameworks and metrics to measure recommendation quality and continuously improve model performance.

- Work with product and engineering teams to convert user journeys and business requirements into measurable ML problems.

- Build data pipelines and services required to support recommendation and intelligence features.

- Ensure AI/ML systems operate securely within multi-tenant environments, maintaining strict separation of customer and member data.

- Implement privacy-aware data handling, consent management, auditability, and data deletion requirements.

- Work with Generative AI and agentic systems where recommendation and intelligence capabilities need to be exposed to AI agents.

- Optimize model performance, inference latency, data processing, and infrastructure costs.

- Collaborate with backend engineers to define APIs and data contracts required to integrate ML capabilities into production applications.

- Take end-to-end ownership of AI/ML features from data design and experimentation through production deployment and monitoring.

Required Skills :

- 4+ years of experience building production AI/ML systems.

- Strong experience with recommendation, ranking, matching, personalization, or graph-based systems.

- Experience designing data architectures for people, relationships, profiles, and behavioural data.

- Experience building systems that learn from user feedback.

- Strong Python expertise and experience building production ML services.

- Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, model evaluation, ranking, and recommendation techniques.

- Experience with PostgreSQL and data modelling.

- Experience with vector databases / pgvector and similarity-based retrieval.

- Experience working with APIs and production ML services.

- Understanding of AI security, privacy, access control, consent, and multi-tenant data isolation.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Good to Have :

- Experience with LLMs, Generative AI, RAG, or Agentic AI.

- Experience with knowledge graphs or relationship graphs.

- Experience with AWS.

- Experience with FastAPI, Redis, and asynchronous Python services.

- Experience working as a senior or sole AI/ML engineer in a small product team.

- Experience with conversational AI or intelligent concierge platforms.
