The Role:
We're looking for a Head of AI to own AI strategy and delivery end-to-end. Here, AI is the product, not a feature. You'll set the technical direction for how client's models are built, adapted, evaluated and governed, and lead a senior AI team that includes our Sr Director of AI. This is a leadership seat, but we want someone who can still go deep on the models.
What You'll Own:
- AI vision and roadmap: define where Arintra's models and agents need to go, and sequence the work against product and customer priorities.
- Model strategy: make the build, fine-tune or buy calls across LLMs and SLMs, including post-training approaches (SFT, preference tuning, distillation) for clinical coding tasks.
- Accuracy and trust: set up evaluation harnesses, hallucination detection and reliability scoring so every coding decision is explainable and auditable.
- Agentic systems: shape the architecture for multi-step coding, documentation-improvement and denial-prevention workflows.
- Team leadership: lead and grow the AI org, including senior ICs and leaders. Raise the hiring bar, mentor, and set a high standard for research-to-production delivery.
- Cross-functional partnership: work closely with the founders, engineering and product on priorities, trade-offs and customer commitments.
- Responsible AI: build governance, safety and compliance practices suited to a regulated, high-stakes domain.
What We're Looking For:
- Graduate, PG or PhD from a top-tier IIT or a leading global university.
- Hands-on depth in LLM fine-tuning and foundation models: you've personally trained, adapted and shipped them, not just directed teams that did.
- Proven production experience with agentic systems, RAG and LLM evaluation at scale.
- 5+ years leading AI/ML teams, ideally including leaders-of-leaders, with clear ownership of outcomes.
- Experience turning research into production systems with measurable business impact.
- Comfort working from the Bengaluru office.
Strong plus:
- Clinical NLP, healthcare AI or other regulated-domain experience (ICD/SNOMED, claims, compliance-heavy systems).
- Published research, patents or a visible technical reputation.
- Startup or 0 - 1 experience, including building AI teams from scratch.
Why This Role:
- Own the AI agenda at a company where AI is the core product.
- Work on a hard, differentiated problem: unstructured clinical text, payer-policy reasoning and explainable AI.
- Join post-Series A with strong investors and independently validated customer results.
- Partner directly with a technically deep, PhD-founded team and shape the AI org early.
