Job Description :
Job Summary :
We build Linux-based routers with advanced forwarding (unicast/multicast/broadcast), secure VPN (WireGuard/tinc), and core services (DHCP, DNS client, NTP). We operate an inhouse Windows-based automated test platform where test suites/cases are defined in XML and executed via C/C++ MinGW command-line tools. You will own test planning from change requests, develop/extend automation, execute test suites, and debug issues across networking, services, and diagnostics. Strong Linux/networking fundamentals, comfort with Windows scripting/CLI, and hands-on packet analysis are essential.
Key Responsibilities :
You will validate and continuously improve a Linux-based router platform that includes :
- Forwarding : unicast, multicast, broadcast, with client-specific customizations
- Secure VPN : WireGuard and tinc
- Services : DHCP server management, DNS client handling, NTP
- Packet capture & analysis, system diagnostics (system watch snapshots)
- UI in JavaScript, backend in C/C++, with Linux tools like igmpproxy, iptables/netfilter, tcpbridge, dtls_proxy
Required Skills & Qualifications :
- 7 - 11 years of experience in Network Testing
Must-Have Skills :
- Solid Linux networking fundamentals : L2/L3, routing/forwarding, VLANs, NAT/firewall basics.
- Hands-on with iptables/netfilter (nftables a plus), IGMP/igmpproxy, multicast flows.
- VPN experience : WireGuard and/or tinc (peering, keys, routing, MTU).
- Automation with XML-defined tests : comfortable reading/writing XML; XPath; reusable test steps.
- Languages : Competent in C/C++ for tool upkeep; scripting (Bash and/or Python) for helpers.
- Tools : Git, CI (e.g., Jenkins/Azure DevOps), issue trackers (Jira), documentation habits.
Nice to Have :
- Packet capture & analysis : tcpdump, Wireshark, pcap filters, correlating traces with logs.
- Services : DHCP server behavior, DNS client resolvers, NTP concepts (stratum, offset, jitter).
- Windows CLI & scripting : PowerShell and/or Batch; operating MinGW-built command-line tools.
- nftables, ebtables/bridge utilities, tc/qdiscs, interface bonding/bridging.
- Scapy, iperf3, Npcap/WinPcap; serial console workflows.
- Experience with custom/lab test frameworks, hardware-in-the-loop, or ladder/flow-based automation tools.
- Familiarity with JavaScript UIs for validating front-end to backend integration.
- Exposure to security practices for VPN key mgmt and config hygiene.
Education :
- UG : B.Tech / B.E. in Any Specialization
- PG : M.Tech in Any Specialization
