This is not a process-administration role. PAPL needs an Agile practitioner with the credibility to coach senior engineers, the pragmatism to adapt frameworks to hardware-software co-development realities, and the organizational skill to synchronize in-house teams with external vendors and sub-contractors across simultaneous workstreams.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Agile Delivery Leadership :
- Own and facilitate all Scrum ceremonies Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, and Backlog Refinement across PAPL's four technology departments : AI/ML, Hardware & Embedded Systems, Software Engineering, and IT Infrastructure.
- Coach engineering teams on Agile principles and Scrum practices, adapting the framework pragmatically to accommodate the unique rhythms of hardware development, firmware validation, and AI/ML experimentation cycles.
- Drive PI (Program Increment) planning and cross-team synchronization when multiple workstreams run in parallel.
- Identify, escalate, and remove impediments that block sprint delivery owning resolution, not just reporting.
2. Multi-Technology Programme Coordination :
- Coordinate delivery across PAPL's full technology stack simultaneously :
1. Embedded / firmware teams working in C and C++
2. Cloud software teams working in C#, ASP.NET Core, and ASPX
3. AI/ML engineering teams working in Python
4. IT Infrastructure and cloud platform teams
5. Hardware electronics and data acquisition teams
- Maintain programme-level visibility of dependencies, risks, and milestones across all workstreams using appropriate tooling (Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, or equivalent).
- Facilitate cross-functional release planning, ensuring integrated milestones across firmware, software, cloud, and AI/ML components are coherent and achievable.
3. Vendor & Sub-contractor Coordination :
- Act as the primary delivery interface for external technology partners, sub-contractors, and system integrators contributing to iPUMPNET development.
- Define, communicate, and enforce delivery expectations, sprint commitments, and quality gates with external parties.
- Track and report on external deliverables, managing risks of third-party delays to in-house sprint schedules.
- Establish onboarding and working protocols for new external collaborators ensuring alignment with PAPL's Agile practices, documentation standards, and coding conventions.
4. Metrics, Reporting & Continuous Improvement :
- Define and track engineering delivery metrics velocity, cycle time, defect escape rate, sprint predictability, and release frequency.
- Produce clear, executive-ready sprint and programme status reports for PAPL's technology leadership.
- Lead retrospectives that generate genuine improvement actions not just conversation and track implementation of agreed changes.
- Benchmark and continuously improve PAPL's delivery maturity with a view to achieving ISO 9001/ISO 27001/ISO 14001/ISO 45001/CMMi process standards over time.
5. Agile Coaching & Culture :
- Coach product owners on effective backlog management, story writing, and prioritization aligned to iPUMPNET's product roadmap.
- Mentor team leads and senior engineers on Agile mindset, self-organization, and servant leadership.
- Champion a culture of transparency, fast feedback loops, and continuous improvement across all technology teams.
- Assess team Agile maturity and design coaching interventions tailored to each team's needs.
Required Qualifications & Experience :
Education & Certifications :
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM I/II) required.
- SAFe Agilist or SAFe Scrum Master certification strongly preferred.
- PMI-ACP or equivalent agile certification a plus.
Experience :
- 10 to 14 years of software/product delivery experience, with at least 5+ years as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach.
