Role Overview :
Predominantly responsible for managing enterprise Windows file share services in client environment. Strong knowledge of Microsoft DFS, Active Directory, and NTFS permissions is required.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and deploy DFS architectures using technologies such as Microsoft DFS, on distributed storage platforms.
- Expertise on Windows File share and Managed folders.
- Administer and monitor DFS namespaces, replication groups, and file shares.
- Troubleshoot DFS-related issues including replication failures, namespace inconsistencies, and performance bottlenecks.
- Knowledge and experience on AD and OUs.
- Implement and maintain file system security, access controls, and auditing.
- Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and disaster recovery testing.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and best practices.
Required Skillset :
- Demonstrated expertise in managing complex Active Directory forests, domains, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs) within large-scale, multi-site environments.
- Proven ability to design and troubleshoot DFS-R and DFS-N configurations, ensuring data consistency and efficient replication across geographic locations.
- Strong proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automating identity management workflows and infrastructure reporting.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly
