Job Description :

We are seeking a proficient WordPress Developer to join the night shift team. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in custom WordPress theme and plugin development, WooCommerce integration, and delivering high-quality, performance-optimised websites. This role requires someone who can work independently, take ownership of client projects, and collaborate with the front-end and QA teams during night hours.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins from scratch or using established frameworks.

- Build and configure WooCommerce-based e-commerce solutions, including payment gateways and custom product types.

- Integrate third-party APIs and services into WordPress websites.

- Optimise existing WordPress sites for performance, security, and scalability.

- Implement custom post types, taxonomies, and ACF (Advanced Custom Fields) for structured content.

- Set up and manage WordPress multisite environments where required.

- Collaborate with the front-end developer and QA specialist to ensure project delivery and quality.

- Handle site migrations, backups, and deployment to production environments.

Requirements :

Must-Have Skills & Technologies :

- Custom WordPress theme development (from scratch and using starter themes)

- Custom plugin development hooks, filters, actions, shortcodes

- PHP 8.x strong command of object-oriented PHP

- WooCommerce product setup, custom checkout, payment gateways

- ACF (Advanced Custom Fields) and custom post types / taxonomies

- MySQL database queries, optimisation

- HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+) for front-end integration

- Git for version control and collaborative workflow

- REST API integration (consuming and exposing endpoints)

Good to Have :

- Experience with headless WordPress (REST API / WPGraphQL) for decoupled front-ends

- Familiarity with page builders (like Elementor and Divi)

- Knowledge of WordPress security best practices (hardening, WPMU Dev)

- Experience with caching plugins (WP Rocket, W3 Total Cache) and CDN integration

- CI/CD pipelines and staging workflow experience

- WP-CLI for command-line WordPress management
