Job Title : Application Lead Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (Technical).

Location : Pune (Onsite).

Experience : 5+ years (strong, hands-on D365 Business Central Technical).

Role Summary :

As an Application Lead, you will own the end-to-end design, build, and configuration of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (D365 BC) solutions and serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders.

You will guide a high-performing team, align delivery with business objectives, oversee timelines and quality, and drive continuous improvement across development, integration, and release processes.

Key Responsibilities :

- Act as the SME for D365 BC technical topics (AL development, extensions, events/subscribers, upgrades, and performance).

- Lead and mentor a team of developers; set priorities, review code, and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.

- Own solution design and technical architecture for BC customizations, integrations, and data flows.

- Collaborate with Product Owners, Functional Consultants, QA, and Infra to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.

- Drive system integrations (APIs, web services, connectors) and data migration (configuration packages, ETL) with robust error handling and logging.

- Establish and enforce DevOps practices (branching, build/release pipelines, automated deployments) and CI/CD for BC.

- Conduct technical design reviews, estimations, and risk assessments; make informed decisions and trade-offs.

- Troubleshoot complex production issues; perform root-cause analysis and implement preventive measures.

- Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions and create technical documentation (design specs, runbooks, SOPs).

- Monitor project progress, manage dependencies, and implement corrective actions to meet scope, schedule, and quality targets.

- Uphold security, compliance, and performance benchmarks across environments.

Must-Have Skills :

- D365 Business Central Technical (5+ years) : AL programming, extensions (v2), event-driven customizations, page/report development, and performance tuning.

- Integration Expertise : OData/REST APIs, web services, Azure Functions/Logic Apps (or equivalent), and connector-based integrations with external systems.

- Data Migration : Configuration packages, scripts/ETL approaches, and reconciliation/validation techniques.

- Design & Architecture : Strong understanding of modular design, SOLID principles, and best practices for BC customizations and upgradeability.

- Troubleshooting : Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across environments (DEV/TEST/PROD).

- Ways of Working : Agile/Scrum experience; proficiency with work management tools (e., Azure DevOps/Jira) and code repositories (Git).

- Leadership : Team leadership, stakeholder management, and decision-making in fast-paced delivery environments.

- Documentation & Communication : Clear technical documentation and effective communication with business and technical audiences.

Good-to-Have :

- Exposure to Power Platform (Power Automate/Power Apps) and Dataverse integrations.

- Experience with BC upgrades (on-prem to SaaS, cumulative updates, breaking changes).

- Knowledge of performance profiling, telemetry, and monitoring (e., Application Insights).

- Familiarity with testing frameworks, automated tests, and quality gates.

- Understanding of security and compliance standards relevant to finance/operations.
