About the Role :

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager with strong technical expertise and excellent client-facing skills.

The ideal candidate will have a background in a service-based organization, experience leading technical teams, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients to set and manage expectations.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing technical guidance and career development support.

- Act as a bridge between clients and internal teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project goals and deliverables.

- Set the right expectations with clients, manage timelines, and ensure successful delivery of projects.

- Take ownership of technical decisions and ensure best practices in design, development, and deployment.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and high-quality solutions.

- Drive process improvements and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

- Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and architecture planning.

Requirements :

- 6- 8 years of experience in software engineering, including at least 2- 3 years in a lead or managerial role.

- Prior experience working in a service-based company is a must.

- Strong technical background with hands-on experience in software development.

- Proven experience in client-facing rolescapable of managing stakeholder expectations effectively.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

- Must be willing to work full-time from the office.

Mandatory Technical Skills (The Stack) :

The ideal candidate must possess hands-on proficiency in the following technologies :

- Core Languages : Expert knowledge of at least one core language : Java (Spring Boot) or Python (Django/Flask/FastAPI).

- Architecture : Strong experience designing and implementing Microservices and RESTful APIs.

- Cloud : Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider : AWS, Azure, or GCP.

- Containers & DevOps : Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitLab/Azure DevOps).

- Databases : Proficiency with both relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB/Cassandra).

Preferred Leadership Qualities :

- Accountability : Proactive and accountable leader who can successfully manage multiple technical priorities simultaneously.

- Balance : Ability to effectively balance technical depth with project delivery and commercial constraints.

- Methodology : Strong understanding of project management principles and Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
