Platform Core OS team in VuNet is responsible for creating highly scalable products for our customers and delivering excellent customer experience. We are looking for smart, intense, self-motivated people with excellent communication skills to join this team as a Lead for Backend Development. As a lead, you will drive the effort to build the next generation platform architecture. You bring in deep expertise across the backend technologies, engage in collaborative debates across cross functional teams, immerse and obsess over the smallest details - all to make sure that our customers love us through our products. As part of this team, you also need to have excellent communication skills as your responsibilities include working closely with other engineering team members, and interacting with product, design, content, business and many other groups to deliver world-class software solutions.

Roles and Responsibilities :

In this role, you will be the driving force behind the backend team, ensuring technical excellence and a high-performance culture.

- Team Leadership & Ownership : Take full ownership of the backend team's productivity, and delivery. You will manage the end-to-end lifecycle of features, from technical design to production deployment.

- Mentorship & Growth : Actively mentor junior and mid-level engineers through regular 1-on-1s, career pathing, and hands-on guidance to foster a culture of continuous learning.

- Quality & Artifact Review : Establish and lead rigorous code review processes. You are responsible for the quality of deliverables, ensuring they meet architectural standards, security requirements, and performance benchmarks.

- Process & Standards Definition : Define and implement engineering best practices, including coding standards, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing strategies, and documentation protocols.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner with Architects, Product Managers, and Frontend teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical roadmaps.

- Technical Strategy : Lead the architectural evolution of the platform, making informed decisions on frameworks (Python, Django, Golang) and infrastructure (Kubernetes, Docker).

Requirements :

Technical Experience :

- Core Backend Mastery : 8+ years of deep experience in Python and the Django framework. Proficiency in Golang is highly preferred for building high-performance microservices.

- System Design & Scalability : Proven track record of designing and shepherding large-scale web applications from ideation to delivery.

- Database & Data Architecture : Expert knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, with experience in high-throughput systems like ClickHouse, Elasticsearch or Kafka

- Infrastructure & DevOps : Strong familiarity with containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.

- Engineering Excellence : Mastery of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns. A strong advocate for writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.

- Industry Standards : Experience with API design (REST/gRPC), observability (logging, monitoring, tracing), and cloud-native development.
