Roles & Responsibilities

In this role, you will be the driving force behind the backend team, ensuring technical excellence and a high-performance culture.

- Team Leadership & Ownership : Take full ownership of the backend team's productivity, and delivery. You will manage the end-to-end lifecycle of features, from technical design to production deployment.

- Mentorship & Growth : Actively mentor junior and mid-level engineers through regular 1- on-1s, career pathing, and hands-on guidance to foster a culture of continuous learning.

- Quality & Artifact Review : Establish and lead rigorous code review processes. You are responsible for the quality of deliverables, ensuring they meet architectural standards, security requirements, and performance benchmarks.

- Process & Standards Definition : Define and implement engineering best practices, including coding standards, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing strategies, and documentation protocols.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner with Architects, Product Managers, and Frontend teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical roadmaps.

- Technical Strategy : Lead the architectural evolution of the platform, making informed decisions on frameworks (Java, Golang) and infrastructure (Kubernetes, Docker).

What You Bring / Technical Experience :

- Core Backend Mastery : 8+ years of strong backend development experience, with deep expertise in Java and Go for building scalable, high-performance microservices.

- System Design & Scalability : Proven track record of designing and shepherding large- scale web applications from ideation to delivery.

- Database & Data Architecture : Expert knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, with experience in high-throughput systems like ClickHouse, Elasticsearch or Kafka

- Infrastructure & DevOps : Strong familiarity with containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.

- Engineering Excellence : Mastery of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns. A strong advocate for writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.

- Industry Standards : Experience with API design (REST/gRPC), observability (logging, monitoring, tracing), and cloud-native development.
