Role : Distributed Systems Architect
Experience : 10 - 15 years
Education : B.E/Master's
We are looking for a Distributed Systems Architect to own the core backend architecture of our enterprise observability platform. This role is responsible for the foundational systems that power data ingestion, API services, microservices orchestration, user workflows, and platform security. The ideal candidate has built and shipped complex distributed products at scale and can drive architectural decisions across multiple engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and evolve the backend architecture for a high-throughput, multi-tenant observability platform handling 50-100 TB/day of telemetry data.
- Own API design and management, including REST and gRPC interfaces, versioning strategy, and developer experience.
- Architect the control plane for platform orchestration, configuration management, and service lifecycle management.
- Design user workflow systems including task orchestration, state management, and asynchronous processing pipelines.
- Lead security and authentication architecture : RBAC, SSO/SAML/OIDC integration, API authentication, and tenant isolation.
- Design and maintain microservices communication patterns, including messaging systems (Kafka, NATS, or equivalent), event-driven architectures, and service mesh integration.
- Establish scalability patterns for horizontal scaling, sharding strategies, backpressure handling, and resource optimization.
- Define and enforce engineering standards for code quality, API contracts, observability of internal services, and incident response.
Mandatory Skills :
- 10+ years of backend engineering experience with at least 5 years in an architect or principal engineer role.
- Proven track record of designing and shipping distributed systems in a product company (not just consulting/services).
- Deep expertise in microservices architecture, API design, messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS), and event-driven patterns.
- Strong experience with authentication/authorization systems (OAuth2, SAML, OIDC, RBAC).
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes-native deployments, containerized services, and cloud-native patterns.
- Expertise in at least two of : Java, Golang, Python for backend systems development.
- Experience building systems that handle high-volume data ingestion and real-time processing.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have :
- Background in observability, monitoring, or APM product companies (Datadog, Dynatrace, Elastic, Splunk, or similar).
- Experience with on-premise enterprise deployments in regulated environments (banking, financial services).
- Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, and metrics/logs/traces correlation.
