This is a techno-functional role involving solution design, hands-on deployment, stakeholder consulting, and delivery ownership across complex infrastructure environments.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead discovery workshops and gather infrastructure & business requirements

- Design VMware-based solutions (compute, storage, networking, HA/DR)

- Perform end-to-end implementation: ESXi, vCenter, clusters, networking, storage integration

- Execute migration activities (P2V/V2V), upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management

- Configure HA, DRS, vMotion, Storage vMotion, Distributed Switch (VDS)

- Integrate VMware with SAN/NAS storage (iSCSI, FC, NFS)

- Implement backup & DR solutions (Veeam or equivalent) aligned to RPO/RTO

- Troubleshoot performance, availability, and configuration issues (L3 level)

- Perform capacity planning, right-sizing, and optimization

- Create HLD, LLD, SOPs, runbooks, migration plans, and as-built documentation

- Work closely with network, storage, security, and cloud teams

- Drive project delivery, risk management, and stakeholder communication

- Mentor L1/L2 teams and support transition to operations

Must Have Skills :

- Strong hands-on experience in VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter Server)

- Expertise in cluster management, HA/DRS, vMotion, Storage vMotion

- Experience with vSphere Distributed Switch (VDS) and VM networking

- Strong understanding of SAN/NAS storage integration (FC, iSCSI, NFS)

- Experience in backup tools (Veeam preferred) and DR implementation

- Knowledge of security hardening, RBAC, and compliance

- Hands-on experience in migration (P2V/V2V), upgrades, and patching

Good to Have :

- Experience with VMware vSAN and NSX

- Exposure to vRealize / Aria Operations (monitoring & logs)

- Basic scripting using PowerShell / PowerCLI

- Familiarity with ServiceNow / Jira / ITIL processes
