Virtusa - Senior Software Development Engineer/Lead - Java/Spring Boot

Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Java Backend Senior Developer / Lead with 6 - 10 years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and deploying scalable, high-performance backend applications.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.

- Develop and implement RESTful APIs and microservices-based architectures.

- Design, build, and deploy cloud-native applications using AWS services.

- Write clean, maintainable, reusable, and efficient code following industry best practices.

- Work on application performance optimization, scalability, reliability, and security.

- Implement database integration and optimize queries for better application performance.

- Develop and maintain integrations with internal and external systems.

- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues across backend services.

- Participate in technical discussions, architecture design, and code reviews.

- Implement CI/CD pipelines and support automated build and deployment processes.

- Ensure application security, coding standards, and best practices are followed.

- Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, QA teams, and product stakeholders.

- Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to the development team.

- Take ownership of technical deliverables and ensure timely project execution.

- Microservices Architecture, RESTful Web Services.

- AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, CloudWatch, IAM).

- Databases : MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle; Hibernate/JPA.

- Tools : Git, Maven/Gradle, Docker, Kubernetes.

- Testing : JUnit, Mockito.

- Messaging : Kafka, RabbitMQ.

- Caching : Redis.

- CI/CD : Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI.
