Virtusa - Oracle PL/SQL Developer - AWS/Python

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Database Developer with strong hands-on expertise in Oracle PL/SQL, Python, AWS RDS, and AWS data migration services. The role will involve developing and optimizing database solutions, supporting data migration initiatives, integrating Oracle workloads with AWS services, and ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability of data platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, test, and maintain database solutions using Oracle and PL/SQL.

- Develop complex stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, views, and SQL queries to support business applications.

- Develop Python scripts and utilities for database automation, data processing, validation, and operational activities.

- Design and execute data migration solutions between Oracle and AWS environments.

- Use AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) for database migration, replication, and data synchronization activities.

- Work with AWS services such as S3, AWS Glue, and AWS Lambda to support data movement, transformation, and processing.

- Support Oracle workloads hosted on AWS RDS and ensure database availability, reliability, and performance.

- Perform SQL query optimization, database performance tuning, indexing, and execution-plan analysis.

- Troubleshoot database, migration, integration, and application-related issues and perform root-cause analysis.

- Collaborate with Data Engineers, Application Developers, Cloud Engineers, Architects, and business stakeholders.

Required Skills:

- 7 - 10 years of experience in Database Development, Oracle development, or a related data technology role.

- Strong hands-on expertise in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.

- Strong experience in SQL query optimization and database performance tuning.

- Strong Python programming skills for automation, data processing, or database-related development.

- Hands-on experience with AWS RDS, AWS DMS, S3, Glue, and Lambda.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
