Virtusa - Azure DevOps Engineer - Cloud Infrastructure

Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and maintain reliable CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, deployment automation, and DevOps practices on Microsoft Azure.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, Azure Pipelines, GitHub Actions, Git, and Infrastructure as Code, along with a strong understanding of secure and scalable deployment practices.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Azure Pipelines and/or GitHub Actions.

- Automate application build, testing, deployment, release, and rollback processes.

- Implement deployment strategies including rolling, canary, blue-green, and zero-downtime deployments.

- Manage source code using Azure Repos and/or GitHub, including branch policies, pull requests, code reviews, and repository governance.

- Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for Azure environments using tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep.

- Provision, configure, and manage Azure infrastructure and cloud resources across development, test, staging, and production environments.

- Automate environment configuration, deployment, scaling, and operational tasks.

- Implement DevOps best practices covering version control, release management, environment management, and deployment governance.

- Integrate automated testing, code quality checks, security scanning, and approval gates into CI/CD pipelines.

- Monitor application and infrastructure health and support logging, alerting, observability, and performance optimization.

- Troubleshoot deployment failures, pipeline issues, infrastructure problems, and production incidents and perform root-cause analysis.

- Implement appropriate security controls, secrets management, identity/access controls, and compliance checks within DevOps workflows.

- Collaborate with Development, QA, Security, Infrastructure, Architecture, and Application teams to enable smooth software delivery.

- Support cloud migration, modernization, and deployment automation initiatives.

- Maintain deployment documentation, runbooks, pipeline standards, and operational procedures.

- Identify opportunities to improve automation, release efficiency, platform reliability, and developer productivity.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 6 - 10 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or related roles.

- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure DevOps.

- Strong experience with Azure Pipelines and/or GitHub Actions.

- Strong understanding of CI/CD, build automation, release management, and deployment strategies.

- Hands-on experience with Git, Azure Repos, and GitHub, including branching strategies, pull requests, and branch policies.

- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform, ARM, or Bicep.

- Good understanding of Azure infrastructure, networking, compute, storage, identity, and security services.

- Experience implementing automated testing, code-quality checks, and security controls within CI/CD pipelines.

- Good understanding of cloud-native deployment patterns and environment management.

- Experience with monitoring, logging, troubleshooting, and production support.

- Strong scripting/automation skills using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or equivalent.

- Strong understanding of DevOps lifecycle, Agile practices, and software delivery processes.

- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

- Good communication and collaboration skills.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
