Role Overview :

As a Senior Database Developer at Vichara, you will be responsible for the architecture, development, and optimization of mission-critical database systems that power our financial platforms. You will work closely with software engineers, data architects, and product stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into high-performance data models.

Your day-to-day work will involve ensuring data integrity, streamlining complex ETL processes, and fine-tuning database performance to support high-concurrency environments, directly impacting the reliability and speed of the financial applications used by our clients.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and implement scalable database schemas and structures that support evolving business requirements and complex financial data models.

- Develop and optimize complex T-SQL stored procedures, triggers, and functions to ensure efficient data processing and business logic execution.

- Execute comprehensive performance tuning initiatives, including query optimization, indexing strategies, and execution plan analysis to minimize latency in high-volume systems.

- Architect and maintain robust ETL pipelines to facilitate seamless data integration and migration across disparate financial systems.

- Implement and enforce rigorous database security protocols, including encryption, access controls, and auditing to ensure compliance with financial industry standards.

- Collaborate with cross-functional development teams to troubleshoot database-related bottlenecks and provide technical guidance on data-centric design patterns.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated expertise in SQL and T-SQL development, with a proven ability to write clean, maintainable, and highly efficient code for large-scale databases.

- Strong proficiency in database design principles, including normalization, partitioning, and capacity planning for high-transaction environments.

- Proven track record in performance tuning and troubleshooting, with the ability to identify and resolve complex locking, blocking, and resource contention issues.

- Hands-on experience in building and managing ETL processes to handle large datasets effectively.

- Proficiency in Python for scripting, data manipulation, or automating database-related tasks.

- Deep understanding of database security best practices, including data masking, encryption at rest, and secure authentication mechanisms.

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical database concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively within a distributed, multi-location team environment.

- Minimum of 5 - 10 years of professional experience in database development, preferably within the financial services or high-frequency data sectors.

- Ability to work effectively in a remote or hybrid model, maintaining high levels of productivity and self-management across various locations including Gurgaon, Pune, or other regional hubs.
