Vice President - Software Engineering

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer (VP Level) with a strong focus on Linux-based systems integration, containerization, DevOps, and SRE principles for our OSS Platform Engineering team. This role will involve designing and implementing robust infrastructure solutions, integrating data and platform services, and ensuring system reliability, scalability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, build, and maintain highly scalable, secure, and fault-tolerant OSS platform services with a focus on Linux-based environments.

- Develop automation scripts and tools using Python, Java, or Golang to streamline system operations and integrations.

- Leverage container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) to deploy and manage distributed applications and services.

- Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar.

- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support efficient and secure code delivery across platforms and data engineering workflows.

- Integrate and support middleware technologies such as Kafka, API Gateways, and other message brokering systems.

- Contribute to the development and maintenance of data engineering pipelines using frameworks like Apache Spark, Airflow, Flink, and Hadoop.

- Build and manage ELT pipelines and data lake/warehouse integrations with platforms like Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake, etc.

- Implement observability solutions using open-source tools such as ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana, and custom telemetry solutions to define and track KPIs (SLIs/SLOs).

- Collaborate with SRE and security teams to ensure platform stability, scalability, compliance, and governance.

- Participate in architectural discussions, code reviews, and mentor junior engineers.

- Engage with stakeholders to support change, transformation, and strategic digital initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Strong Linux systems administration and engineering experience.

- Expertise in containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).

- Proficient in one or more high-level programming languages : Python, Java, Golang.

- Experience with NetDevOps automation and scripting for networking tasks.

- Proven experience in IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.

- Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and their services : compute, networking, IAM, monitoring, and storage.

- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.

- Familiarity with GitOps practices, configuration management, and source control systems (Git).

- Hands-on experience with middleware tech (Kafka, API Gateways) and data tools (Spark, Airflow, Flink).

- Experience in building ELT pipelines and integrating cloud storage/data warehouses (Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery).

- Deep understanding and application of SRE principles, including incident response, monitoring, and reliability engineering.

- Ability to define and monitor SLIs/SLOs, working with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK.
