Contract (1 Year Remote then Onsite in Pune )

Position Summary :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead or Senior VDI Engineer to join our Infrastructure Engineering team.

This role will focus on the design, implementation, and support of our enterprise-wide Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment, with a specialization in Omnissa Horizon (formerly VMware Horizon).

The ideal candidate will lead initiatives under the VDI 2.0 modernization program, ensuring high performance, scalability, and security of virtual desktop services.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead the deployment and lifecycle management of Omnissa Horizon environments.

- Oversee the migration from legacy VDI platforms (e.g., Moonshot, Nutanix) to a unified Horizon-based infrastructure.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with Workspace ONE, Active Directory, and endpoint management tools.

- Provide Tier 3 support and root cause analysis for complex VDI issues.

- Develop and maintain automation scripts for desktop provisioning and application delivery.

- Monitor system performance and implement tuning improvements to enhance user experience.

- Participate in business continuity planning and disaster recovery testing for VDI systems.

- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across VDI-related projects.

Required Qualifications :

- 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure with at least 4 years focused on VDI technologies.

- Deep expertise in Omnissa Horizon (VMware Horizon), including Instant Clones, App Volumes, and DEM.

- Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11, Active Directory, Group Policy, and profile management.

- Experience with Workspace ONE, Thin Clients, and hybrid laptop-VDI solutions.

- Familiarity with monitoring and remote support tools such as Aria and DEX.

- Proven experience in large-scale VDI deployments and performance tuning.

- Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Certifications in VMware Horizon, Omnissa Workspace ONE, or related technologies.

- Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Python).

- Exposure to cloud-hosted VDI (e.g., Horizon on Azure).

- Background in financial services or regulated environments.
