V Mart - Software Development Engineer II - Java/Ruby on Rails

Key Responsibilities :

- Ability to design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems.

- Ability to plan, prioritize, estimate and execute releases with a good degree of predictability.

- Collaborate with Front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.

- Deep dive and debug production issues across services and levels of the stack when needed.

- Brainstorm on business requirements with product/business teams.

- Proactively inform the team when blocked which would otherwise lead to delayed delivery.

Technical capabilities :

- Strong DS/Algo concepts with a knack of looking out for edge cases.

- Strong technical thinking and demonstrated ability to lead software design and coding in at least one of the programming languages from Java/Ruby.

- Open to switching languages as per need of the project.

- Working knowledge of databases like MySQL, Mongo, Solr, Redis, Aerospike, and Kafka is preferred.

- Experience building software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.

- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

- Practiced ability to apply API design principles.

- Drive to solve consumer problems.

- Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering.
