About the Role :
As a Senior Software Engineer in Ubers Drive team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of autonomous ridesharing. Beyond coding, you will lead strategic initiatives that align with Ubers vision to be the global leader in autonomous mobility. You will work closely with product managers and designers to transform innovative ideas into scalable, robust technical solutions that impact millions of users.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and execute a strategic roadmap to solidify Ubers leadership in autonomous ridesharing.
- Manage the full lifecycle of multiple projects across various business domains, ensuring alignment with user experience and marketplace needs.
- Deliver new products and groundbreaking innovations that enhance key performance metrics while maintaining platform reliability.
- Build and deploy scalable, cutting-edge technologies that prepare Uber for future autonomous vehicle advancements and impact the broader company ecosystem.
- Collaborate across functions including business, legal, operations, and engineering to drive project success and consensus.
Requirements :
- 6+ years of backend engineering experience.
- Proficient in core programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, or Go.
- Strong foundation in product development and delivering measurable outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience in designing large-scale distributed systems and scalable microservices architectures.
- Proven track record of rapid, metrics-driven product iteration prioritizing reliability.
- Familiarity with autonomous vehicles or transportation industry is a plus.
- Expertise in Operations Research, Machine Learning applications, and enterprise mobile engineering.
- Skilled at working in complex, cross-functional environments and with external engineering partners.
