Hiring : Typst Developer / Document Automation Engineer

Job Description :

We are looking for an experienced Typst Developer / Document Automation Engineer to build scalable, high-performance document generation solutions using Typst. The role involves developing reusable templates, automating PDF generation, integrating document workflows with enterprise applications, and modernizing legacy reporting and publishing systems.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and develop reusable Typst templates for reports, proposals, invoices, contracts, and technical documentation.

- Build custom Typst macros, functions, and reusable document components.

- Automate document generation using JSON, CSV, XML, APIs, and databases.

- Develop and maintain document generation pipelines integrated with backend applications.

- Implement advanced layouts, typography, tables, mathematical notation, and conditional rendering.

- Integrate Typst CLI with CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, and microservices.

- Manage and extend Typst packages, libraries, graphics, and visualization components.

- Ensure document quality, performance, version control, and governance standards.

Required Skills :

Typst & Document Automation :

- Strong hands-on experience with Typst markup, scripting, and template development.

- Expertise in Show/Set rules, context management, and advanced layouts.

- Experience developing reusable templates and component libraries.

- Strong knowledge of automated PDF generation and document workflows.

Software Engineering :

- Proficiency in Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Java, or Rust.

- Experience with REST APIs, microservices, object-oriented programming, and design patterns.

- Understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and CI/CD practices.

- Familiarity with Git, GitHub, and Azure DevOps.

Data Processing & Publishing :

- Experience handling JSON, CSV, XML, and YAML.

- Knowledge of data transformation, validation, SQL, and database integration.

- Understanding of typography, page composition, font management, and multi-column layouts.

- Exposure to LaTeX, Pandoc, InDesign, or similar publishing tools.

- Experience with enterprise reporting and document publishing platforms is an advantage.
