Traffic Tech Lead

Description :

The role involves leading efforts to optimize traffic flow, enhance system performance, and ensure scalable and secure network operations. It requires a deep understanding of networking, proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ and Go, and experience with Kubernetes, cyber security, caching strategies, and Points of Presence (PoP) optimization.

Responsibilities :

- Design and Develop Traffic Management Solutions : Leading the design, development, and maintenance of solutions to manage network traffic efficiently.

- Optimize Network Operations : Improve efficiency through enhanced caching strategies and PoP optimization.

- Develop High-Performance Applications : Utilize C/C++ and Go to create robust applications.

- Manage Scalability on Kubernetes : Deploy and oversee scalable systems.

- Cyber Security and Observability : Implement measures to protect network infrastructure and monitor system health.

- Collaborate and Mentor : Work with cross-functional teams to integrate networking solutions and guide junior engineers.

- Contribute to Open-Source and Patented Innovation : Lead projects and innovations to keep eBay at the forefront of technology.

Qualifications :

- Education : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.

- Experience : At least 5 years in networking, traffic management, and cyber security.

- Technical Skills : Proficiency in C/C++ and Go, Low level Linux networking, Kubernetes, and caching strategies.

- Soft Skills : Strong problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with Envoy for traffic management.

- Experience with low level Linux networking and distributed systems.

- Contributions to open-source projects.

- Relevant certifications and experience in large-scale environments.

- Familiarity with Java or other frameworks.

- Experience in Agile methodologies and patent creation.
