Job Summary :

We are looking for an experienced Test Engineer - Data with strong expertise in Data Testing and ETL Testing across BI & Analytics platforms. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience validating Data Warehousing solutions, ETL pipelines, BI reports, and large-scale enterprise data programs.

The role requires expertise in data validation, ETL testing, data migration testing, and BI report/dashboard verification, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data pipelines and analytics platforms.

Key Responsibilities :

Data Testing & Validation :

- Perform end-to-end data testing across Data Warehouse, BI, and Analytics platforms.

- Validate ETL processes and data pipelines to ensure data accuracy and completeness.

- Conduct data reconciliation and validation between source and target systems.

- Ensure correctness of data transformations, aggregations, and business logic implementations.

ETL & Data Warehouse Testing :

- Design and execute test cases for ETL workflows and Data Warehouse solutions.

- Validate Source-to-Target Mappings (STTM) and ensure accurate data transformations.

- Verify data ingestion, transformation, and loading processes in ETL pipelines.

BI & Analytics Testing :

- Validate BI dashboards, reports, and KPIs across analytics platforms.

- Ensure business metrics and reports align with functional requirements.

- Test report calculations, filters, data models, and visualization outputs.

Data Migration Testing :

- Test and validate data migration from legacy systems to upgraded platforms.

- Ensure data completeness, consistency, and integrity during migration processes.

- Develop test scenarios and validation strategies for migrated datasets.

Test Planning & Management :

- Create test strategies, test plans, and test cases based on business requirements.

- Analyze BRDs, data models, user stories, and data mapping documents.

- Participate in defect management, defect triage, and regression testing cycles.

Collaboration & Documentation :

- Work closely with Data Engineers, ETL Developers, BI Developers, and Business Analysts.

- Support UAT and production validation cycles.

- Maintain documentation of test cases, test results, and defect reports.

Required Skills & Expertise :

Technical Skills :

- Strong experience in Data Testing and ETL Testing

- Good understanding of Data Warehouse concepts and BI testing

- Strong proficiency in SQL for data validation and reconciliation

- Experience with ETL tools and data integration platforms

- Knowledge of data migration testing methodologies

- BI & Data Platforms

- Experience with tools such as :

1. Qlik

2. Power BI

3. Tableau

4. Redshift

5. Data Lake platforms

6. Data Governance & Quality

- Exposure to Data Quality frameworks

- Understanding of Metadata Management

- Familiarity with Data Governance practices

Testing Tools :

- Experience with test management tools such as MasterCraft

- Familiarity with SQL clients and BI visualization tools

- Exposure to automation scripting using Python or Shell

Required Experience :

- 5+ years of experience in Data Testing / ETL Testing

- Experience working on large-scale enterprise Data Warehouse / Analytics programs

- Prior experience in BI reporting validation and ETL pipeline testing

- Experience working in data migration and enterprise analytics environments

Education :

B.E / B.Tech / M.Tech / MCA / MS (Computer Science / IT) or equivalent.
