About the Role:
The Head Technology will be responsible for governing and driving the adoption of the organizations globally defined technology strategy, providing leadership oversight across IT operations, and ensuring the security, reliability, and scalability of technology systems. The role will focus on aligning regional execution with global standards, enforcing frameworks and policies, and enabling business growth through effective implementation of technology initiatives and digital transformation programs. This position emphasizes executive oversight and governance, with responsibility for directing technology infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity and data management, ensuring compliance with global guidelines and alignment with business objectives.
Role & responsibilities:
Technology Strategy & Governance:
- Develop and implement the organization's technology and IT strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives and identify opportunities to improve efficiency through technology.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that support business growth and innovation.
- Establish technology governance, policies, standards, and best practices.
IT Infrastructure & Operations:
- Oversee the management of IT infrastructure, networks, servers, cloud environments, and end-user computing.
- Ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and reliability of IT systems.
- Manage IT service delivery, incident management, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
- Monitor and optimize IT operational processes and service levels.
Enterprise Applications & Systems:
- Accountability for India Application Portfolio: Own accountability for the performance, stability, and availability of all applications deployed for the India business.
- Governance of India Application Delivery: Provide governance, prioritisation, and oversight for development and support activities for India applications, executed by regional or global teams.
- India Business Alignment & Demand Validation: Work closely with India business leadership to capture, validate, and prioritise application demands, ensuring alignment with business objectives and value outcomes.
- Coordination with Regional & Global Delivery Teams: Act as the single point of contact for India application needs, ensuring regional development teams and global enterprise teams deliver effectively against India requirements.
- Compliance, Risk & Lifecycle Management (India Scope): Ensure all India applications meet local regulatory, security, and audit requirements, while driving lifecycle actions such as upgrades, decommissioning, and remediation of technical debt.
Cybersecurity & Compliance:
- Adherence to Global Infosec & Data Privacy Frameworks: Ensure all India systems and processes fully comply with established global information security and data privacy standards, policies, and controls.
- Collaboration with Global Infosec & Data Privacy Teams: Work closely with central Infosec and Data Privacy teams to interpret requirements, align implementations, and address India-specific risks and regulatory considerations.
- Control Implementation & Assurance: Ensure all required security and privacy controls are identified, implemented, and operating effectively across India applications and infrastructure.
- Audit Readiness & Closure: Own readiness for all enterprise, internal, and external audits impacting India; ensure timely closure of audit findings, remediation actions, and compliance gaps.
- Risk Identification & Mitigation (India Scope): Proactively identify security and data privacy risks within India operations and drive mitigation actions in coordination with global teams.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management:
- Manage relationships with technology vendors, system integrators, consultants, and service providers.
- Negotiate contracts, SLAs, and commercial agreements.
- Partner with business leaders to understand requirements and deliver technology solutions that support organizational goals.
Budget & Resource Management:
- Develop and manage annual IT budgets and technology investment plans.
- Optimize technology spending while maintaining service quality and security.
- Ensure effective allocation of resources across projects and operational priorities.
Preferred candidate profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Master's degree (MBA, MCA, M.Tech, or equivalent) preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in technology and IT leadership roles.
- Proven experience managing enterprise IT environments and technology teams.
- Experience leading digital transformation, infrastructure modernization, and enterprise application initiatives.
