Technical Manager - Java Engineering

We are looking for an accomplished and dynamic Technical Manager Java Engineering to lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale applications in the Travel domain.

This is a senior role that demands a balance of strong technical expertise, leadership in solution design and project execution, and proven ability in client communication and stakeholder management.

The selected individual will play a critical role in ensuring technology decisions align with business goals, while mentoring teams and driving successful outcomes in a collaborative, Agile environment.

The role requires hands-on experience with modern Java frameworks, AWS services, DevOps practices, and relational databases, combined with strong project planning and delivery management skills.

Key Responsibilities :

- Act as the primary point of contact for client communication, ensuring transparency, trust, and alignment across all stakeholders.

- Manage stakeholder expectations by providing regular updates on project status, risks, and milestones, while proactively addressing challenges.

- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to capture requirements and translate them into well-structured, scalable solutions.

- Lead requirement analysis, solution design, estimation, and detailed project planning across multiple initiatives.

- Oversee the architecture, design, and delivery of enterprise-grade applications built on Java technologies, ensuring adherence to best practices.

- Drive adoption and implementation of Spring Boot, Spring Security, Hibernate, Elasticsearch, and AWS services across projects.

- Ensure smooth deployment and release cycles by managing DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, server deployments, and production troubleshooting.

- Guide and mentor engineering teams, promoting technical excellence, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

- Ensure Agile and Scrum best practices are followed, with Jira used for backlog management, sprint planning, progress tracking, and reporting.

- Champion governance, compliance, and secure coding practices while meeting enterprise quality standards.

Must-Have Skills :

- Extensive experience in Java (8) with expertise in Spring Boot, Spring Security, Hibernate, and Elasticsearch.

- Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, API Gateway, and IAM.

- Strong knowledge and experience with DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, deployments, release management, and troubleshooting.

- Proficiency in relational databases including PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MySQL with expertise in query optimization and caching strategies.

- Solid understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies, with proven experience using Jira for project and sprint management.

- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to build strong, trusted relationships and handle stakeholder management effectively.

- Proven expertise in requirement analysis, solutioning, effort estimation, and project planning.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Scrum Master certification (CSM/PSM) to demonstrate Agile leadership.

- AWS Solution Architect certification to validate cloud expertise.

- Database certifications in Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.

- Prior experience working in the Travel domain with large-scale enterprise systems.
