Job Title : Technical Manager Data Engineering

Location : Pune, India

Experience : 12 to 15 years (including 23 years in a managerial role)

Role Summary :

- Lead a team of data engineers and architects to design, develop, and implement enterprise data solutions.

- Combine technical expertise in data architecture, cloud, and engineering with strong leadership, team management, and project prioritization skills.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead, mentor, and manage a technical team (2025 members).

- Oversee data architecture, modeling, ETL/ELT, and database design (SQL & NoSQL).

- Manage cloud-based applications (BigQuery, GCP, AWS) and DevOps processes.

- Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and delivery timelines.

- Optimize existing data systems, incorporate new technologies, and ensure compliance.

- Communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Required Skills :

- Python, Java, UNIX scripting, SQL, Spark, Kafka.

- Cloud expertise : BigQuery, GCP, AWS (multi-cloud exposure a plus).

- Data warehouse migration, orchestration tools (Airflow, Ctrl-M), API gateways.

- Strong distributed systems understanding, software engineering best practices.

- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and team leadership.

Education :

- Bachelors/Masters in Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
