Role Overview :

The Manager - IT Engineering Applications is a senior leadership role requiring 10+ years of experience to lead technical teams in designing, building, and delivering scalable, secure, cloud-ready application solutions.

Located in Pune, the incumbent is responsible for driving DevOps, Agile/Waterfall practices, ensuring high-quality delivery, managing incidents, and serving as the primary interface between technical delivery and architecture/business functions.

This role requires mandatory Experience in software development (with a focus on Java-based application development and DevOps).

Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced Manager (10+ years experience) to lead technical engineering teams in Pune, focusing on cloud-ready application solutions. The ideal candidate will possess mandatory experience in software development (Java/DevOps), systems analysis, and leading Agile-based project delivery.

Key responsibilities include overseeing the entire SDLC, managing the translation of functional specifications into stable code modules, driving DevOps and quality practices, providing technical design leadership and incident management, and effectively managing internal and external vendor/offshore resources while adhering to ITIL and architectural standards.

Key Responsibilities and Technical Deliverables :

Technical Leadership and Team Management :

- Lead and develop technical teams (onshore, offshore, and vendor resources); oversee task delegation, performance, and delivery outcomes.

- Drive continuous improvement in processes and technical output, building accountability and technical proficiency within the team.

- Provide leadership in technical design decisions, guiding the team on building scalable and secure application solutions.

- Guide teams across SDLC phases, ensuring strict adherence to development standards and delivery methodologies.

Architecture, Design, and Quality Assurance :

- Manage translation of functional specifications into program designs, code modules, and stable application systems, ensuring high-quality, production-ready code.

- Oversee Systems analysis & high-level design activities for new enhancements and projects.

- Ensure strong documentation quality and strict compliance to architectural guidelines for all solutions.

- Leverage expertise in Engineering tools (e.g., bug tracking, version control) to enforce robust configuration management and issue resolution practices.

Methodology and Process Governance :

- Leverage DevOps, Agile, and Waterfall frameworks effectively to deliver multi-channel, high-volume applications, choosing the right approach based on project needs.

- Provide leadership in technical design decisions, incident management, and solution troubleshooting, acting as the critical escalation point.

- Apply knowledge of the ITIL framework for streamlined service operation, incident resolution, and problem management.

- Mandatory Leading Agile-based project delivery, ensuring quick iterations and continuous feedback loops.

Stakeholder and Vendor Management :

- Partner closely with Architecture, QA, Infrastructure, Operations, and Business Analysts to ensure alignment and smooth deployment.

- Manage vendor resources including offshore and third-party teams, ensuring quality and timely delivery aligned with organizational standards.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications :

- Experience : 10+ years of total IT experience.

- Technical Domain : Experience in software development (DevOps, Java-based application development).

- Process & Methodology : Mandatory experience in Leading Agile-based project delivery, familiarity with the ITIL framework, and experience applying DevOps practices.

- Design : Expertise in Systems analysis & high-level design.

- Leadership : Proven ability to Lead and develop technical teams and Drive continuous improvement.

Preferred Skills :

- Certifications in Agile (Scrum Master, Product Owner) or ITIL.

- Experience managing large-scale cloud migration projects (Azure, AWS, or GCP).

- Hands-on experience with specific Engineering tools (e.g., Jira, GitLab, Jenkins).

- Experience managing budgets and resource forecasts for large engineering teams.
