About the Role :
We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain mission-critical financial services systems. You will work on serverless and containerized applications, integrate with payment providers, build event-driven workflows, and ensure high reliability and observability across distributed systems.
This role also involves leading a small team of developers, mentoring, reviewing code, and ensuring best practices across projects.
The position focuses on loan lifecycle management, lien marking, eligibility checks, and payment processing, delivering scalable, maintainable, and production-grade solutions.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS in both serverless (Lambda) and containerized (ECS/ECR with Docker) environments.
- Build APIs and workflows for loan management, lien marking, eligibility checks, and payment processing (Razorpay, Cashfree).
- Work with PostgreSQL and MySQL using Drizzle ORM, writing efficient queries and optimizing data models.
- Design and maintain event-driven systems using EventBridge, SQS, and partner webhooks for audit logging and async workflows.
- Lead a small team of developers : mentor, conduct code reviews, enforce best practices, and manage task assignments.
- Ensure system performance, reliability, and observability, troubleshooting high-throughput production issues.
- Collaborate with product, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver robust, production-ready solutions.
Required Skills :
- Backend & Language : Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS, serverless frameworks (SST).
- Cloud & Containerization : AWS Lambda, ECS, ECR, API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS, S3, CloudWatch, Docker.
- Database : PostgreSQL, MySQL, Drizzle ORM, query optimization, schema design.
- Payments & Integrations : Razorpay, Cashfree, or similar fintech APIs.
- System Design : Event-driven workflows, retries, idempotency, async processing.
- Team Leadership : Mentoring, code reviews, task management, enforcing development best practices.
- Development Practices : Git, testing, logging, monitoring, performance tuning.
