Description :

We are looking for a Tech Lead Android who combines deep Android engineering expertise with strong technical leadership and product thinking. In this role, you will own Android architecture, lead a team of engineers, and drive technical excellence across the mobile ecosystem.

You will work closely with Product, Design, Backend, QA, and Platform teams to deliver high-quality, performant Android applications while mentoring engineers and influencing long-term technical strategy.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both coding depth and system-level ownership.

Key Responsibilities :

- Own and evolve the overall Android app architecture, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance.

- Define best practices for Android development including architecture patterns (MVVM / Clean Architecture), modularization, and dependency management.

- Lead technical decision-making for libraries, frameworks, build systems, and tooling.

- Ensure app stability, performance optimization, memory management, and efficient background processing.

- Lead end-to-end development of complex Android featuresfrom ideation and design to release and post-production monitoring.

- Hands-on contribution to critical modules and high-impact features.

- Collaborate closely with backend teams to define APIs, contracts, and integration strategies.

- Drive adoption of modern Android technologies such as Jetpack libraries and Compose (where applicable).

- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Android engineers; provide technical guidance and career mentorship.

- Conduct rigorous code reviews, enforce coding standards, and maintain a high bar for code quality and test coverage.

- Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement within the mobile team.

- Establish strong testing practices using unit, integration, and UI testing frameworks.

- Own CI/CD pipelines for Android builds, testing, and releases.

- Monitor production metrics, crashes, and performance indicators; drive continuous improvement.

- Partner with Product Managers and Designers to translate business and UX requirements into robust technical solutions.

- Act as the Android SPOC for cross-team technical discussions and roadmap planning.

- Influence product and engineering roadmaps with a mobile-first and scale-first mindset.

What were looking for :

- 6 to 10 years of hands-on Android development experience, with at least 12 years in a technical leadership or lead engineer role.

- Strong expertise in Kotlin, Android SDK, Jetpack components, and modern Android app architectures.

- Proven experience building and scaling Android applications with large user bases (100k+ DAUs).

- Deep understanding of Android performance optimization, memory management, multithreading, and background execution.

- Strong experience integrating RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and real-time data streams.

- Solid knowledge of testing frameworks (JUnit, Espresso, Mockito) and CI/CD tools (Bitrise, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).

- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Good to Have :

- Experience with Jetpack Compose, modular architecture, and multi-module apps.

- Hands-on experience with Firebase, Crashlytics, Room DB, Retrofit, Dagger/Hilt.

- Exposure to analytics, experimentation, and event tracking tools.

- Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in Android developer communities.

- Experience working in high-growth, consumer-scale product companies.
