About the Role :

We are looking for a highly motivated Team Lead / Engineering Manager who can lead a team of engineers while remaining hands-on with technology.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience building scalable backend systems, and cloud-native platforms, along with the ability to mentor engineers and drive delivery in a fast-paced startup environment.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers to deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure banking products.

- Design and build high-performance backend systems and APIs supporting digital banking platforms.

- Collaborate with Product, Design, Data, and DevOps teams to deliver new features and improvements.

- Drive architecture, technical design, and code quality standards across the engineering team.

- Participate in hands-on coding, code reviews, and debugging complex technical issues.

- Ensure adoption of best engineering practices, CI/CD, testing, and DevOps culture.

- Plan sprint cycles, manage technical roadmap, and ensure timely delivery of projects.

- Build and scale systems with high availability, security, and compliance standards required for fintech.

- Support hiring, onboarding, and development of engineering talent.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 8 to 12 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 23 years leading teams.

- Strong experience in backend technologies such as Java

- Hands-on experience with microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.

- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS / GCP / Azure.

- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).

- Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and scalable platforms.

- Solid understanding of databases (SQL / NoSQL).

- Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.

- Exposure to fintech, digital banking, payments, or regulated environments is a strong advantage.

Good to Have :

- Experience building high-scale fintech or digital banking products.

- Familiarity with Kafka, messaging systems, and event streaming.

- Knowledge of security, compliance, and regulatory standards in banking systems.
