Description and Overview :

The VCF Automation Senior Consultant will build automation blueprints, integrate with supporting systems, and ensure solutions are operationalized for Day-2 usage.

Key Responsibilities :

- Deploy and configure VCF Automation in VCF 9 environments.

- Build automation blueprints for VM provisioning, approvals, and service requests.

- Configure self-service catalogs, governance policies, and role-based access controls.

- Integrate VCF Automation with VCF Operations, NSX, vSphere, and other integration components as needed.

- Support integration with external systems (CI/CD, CMDB, API endpoints).

- Troubleshoot automation failures and optimize performance.

- Deliver documentation, runbooks, and knowledge transfer to customer teams.

- Collaborate closely with the Architect to align with design and best practices.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 5+ years VMware delivery experience with a focus on automation.

- Hands-on experience implementing vRealize Automation / VCF Automation.

- Strong technical skills in scripting (VMware Orchestrator, PowerShell, Python, YAML) and API integrations.

- Familiarity with VMware Cloud Foundation 5.2 and exposure to VCF 9.

- Customer-facing professional services or consulting experience.

- Experience with at least one hybrid cloud provisioning (VMware, AWS, Azure, GCP).

- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible).

Certifications :

- Preferred - VMware Certified Professional - VMware Cloud Foundation Administrator (2V0-17.25)

- Optional - VMware Cloud Foundation Architect (2V0-13.25)

- Diagnose automation blueprint failures

- Troubleshoot workflow and integration issues

- Optimize provisioning performance

- Analyze logs and perform root cause analysis

- Tune policies and resource allocation

7. Documentation & Knowledge Transfer :

- Document build procedures and configurations

- Create automation runbooks and playbooks

- Build blueprint documentation and standards

- Conduct knowledge transfer sessions with customer teams

- Provide Day-2 operational handoff materials

8. Collaboration & Delivery :

- Work closely with VCF Automation Architect

- Execute build plans per architecture specifications

- Align delivery with design and best practices

- Professional customer-facing communication

- Coordinate with project manager on deliverables

9. Technical Foundations :

- VCF 5.2+ hands-on experience with VCF 9 exposure

- Strong vSphere, NSX, vSAN knowledge

- Infrastructure-as-Code principles and tools (Terraform, Ansible)

- Hybrid cloud provisioning (AWS, Azure, GCP)

- DevOps practices and continuous delivery concepts
