Tableau Developer - Dashboard Design

Job Description

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field.

- Total IT experience - 5-7 years, with Tableau experience - 3+ years

- Proven experience in data visualization, with proficiency in Tableau and strong skills in SQL server

- Basic knowledge and/ or experience of Snowflake will be added advantage

- Strong understanding of data analysis concepts and techniques, including data modeling and statistical analysis

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels

- Strong focus on accuracy and data integrity

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment"

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and visual analytics using Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server.

- Collaborate with business users and analysts to understand reporting needs, gather requirements, and translate them into effective visualizations.

- Develop optimized SQL queries and stored procedures to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from multiple sources, primarily SQL Server.

- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and performance optimization of Tableau workbooks and data sources.

- Implement best practices in data visualization to present insights that are clear, accurate, and visually engaging.

- Work with Snowflake and other data warehouse technologies for data extraction and modeling (basic understanding required).

- Create and maintain calculated fields, parameters, filters, and complex dashboards to address diverse analytical requirements.

- Perform data validation and troubleshoot discrepancies to ensure reliable reporting.

- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business teams to ensure seamless data flow and high data quality.

- Publish and schedule Tableau dashboards on Tableau Server, ensuring proper access controls and performance tuning.

- Stay up to date with the latest Tableau features, BI trends, and data analytics best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

- 5 - 7 years of total IT experience with a minimum of 3+ years of hands-on Tableau development experience.

- Proven proficiency in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server for designing and deploying visual analytics solutions.

- Strong working knowledge of SQL Server, including query optimization and data manipulation.

- Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL concepts, and relational database design.

- Strong grasp of data analysis techniques, statistical interpretation, and business KPIs.

- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all organizational levels.

- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and deliver under tight deadlines.

- Strong commitment to accuracy, data integrity, and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills :

- Working knowledge of Snowflake or other cloud data warehouse platforms.

- Experience integrating Tableau with Python/R scripts or APIs for advanced analytics.

- Understanding of data governance, access management, and version control in BI environments.

- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools like JIRA or Confluence.

- Knowledge of data preparation tools (e.g., Alteryx, Tableau Prep, Power Query).
